Early English Furniture & Woodwork

This richly illustrated set of Volumes I and II of Early English Furniture & Woodwork by Herbert Cescinsky and Ernest R Gribble published in 1922 are in excellent condition for their age.
The books have numerous illustrations, both full page and in the text. Volume I has ten chapters focussing on historical context, craftsmanship, and early architectural styles (largely domestic). Volume II has seven chapters tracing the development of various types of furniture and decorative techniques.
In quarter morocco bindings with gilt lettering, the covers are in good condition apart from rubbing to the edges and corners and the top and bottom of the spines (the edges have been rubbed off the top and bottom of the spine on Volume I). Apart from that, the books really are in excellent condition. Internally they are exceptionally clean and appear to have hardly been opened.
An excellent opportunity to own a handsome set of books which would grace any library and provide a valuable reference book for anyone interested in antique furniture and woodwork.
