Early Georgain Single Pointer Longcase Clock
A Fine Early Georgian oak cased cottage longcase clock.c.1720.An early antique clock made by Robert Schofield of Rochdale,the first of this prolific clock making family.Single pointer to the primitive brass dial.Date aperture and dummy winding holes.30 hour movement striking on a bell to the hour.Superb case with blind fretwork to the moulded caddy top.Finely turned pillars repeated to the back.Shaped top to the case door.Stands on bracket feet.Measures 78"high.Full working order.Superb colour and patina.
