Early George Mulhaser for Plycraft Lounge Chair
This is a beautiful original early George Mulhaser lounge chair manufactured by Plycraft. The chair has all of its original labels and stickers and looks to date from the early 1960’s. The chair is wrapped in a stunning walnut ply and the feet of both chair and ottoman are veneered in walnut, the seat is upholstered in the original black vinyl. This a bold and very attractive period chair.
Condition:
The condition is good. The chair is very original and untouched, it therefore needs a little TLC. The swivel and tilt mechanism works well, though it would definitley benefit from a service. The chair wobbles a little on the base, I hope that servicing the tilt mechanism will rectify this wobble. There is some losses of to the veneer on the front edge of some of the feet. There is the odd replacement modern screw. The vinyl and ply are in good condition, there are a few small bumps and scrapes to the ply.
