Circa 1860, early Victorian burr walnut side cabinet. The top has a wonderful burr veneer, ogee moulding and a breakfront section on the fore edge. Below is a deep apron with a burr walnut panel with a nice simple geometric inlay in satinwood above a brass beading. There are 2 mounts on the fore edge left and right above a string inlay down this section as well. At the front there are 2 doors with a panel in the centre inlaid with stylish swags almost in the form of a cartouche. The outside of the door has burr walnut, double string inlay, and a beading around the frame. Inside the cabinet there are 2 velvet lined shelves which are polished at the front. Beneath the doors there is again a moulded edge and a lovely shaped apron which has double string inlay top and bottom giving the cabinet elegance. The whole piece is clean, rich in colour.

Size 105.5cm high x 106.5cm wide x 39cm deep.
