Edwardian Arts & Crafts Oak Student's Bureau
This lovely antique student's bureau looks to date from the early twentieth century. It is constructed from solid oak and is very much in the arts and crafts stye with lovely brass art nouveau show hinges. The bureau has a fall front writing section (which is missing its handle and needs to be pulled open from the bottom). Beside this is a small upper cupboard with a single door with a decorative handle, and a small open beneath. There are two lower shelves.
Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in usuable condition, but does have some wear consistent with age and use and would benefit from some restoration work. The fall front is missing its handle and its key, which makes it a little awkward to open. . There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded, patchily so to one side. There are some heavier scuffs and marks to the front of the fall front and there is some splitting to the back of the fall front at one side.
