Edwardian Mahogany Serpentine Revolving Bookcase

An elegant Edwardian mahogany and inlaid revolving bookcase dating to c.1905, this is an unusual design which can also be seen in Brodick Castle. It has a serpentine shaped square top crossbanded in satinwood with box and ebony stringing and turned supports between the two tiers. With further line inlay to the base, a shaped apron and cabriole legs with pad feet. The shelves will accomodate approximately 9-10 feet of books. In good condition and rotating freely, it has a mellow colour and has been sympathetically repolished, some dark marks remain to top.
