Edwardian Tall Slender Inlaid Mahogany Bookcase

A lovely mahogany bookcase cabinet. We date this bookcase to the early 20th century.
The bookcase comes in two parts for transport: the base section and the top section.
The base consists of a two door cupboard and is fitted with internal shelves. The right hand door is fitted with a lock (key is supplied). Above this, there are two drawers. The drawers are fitted with drop handles mounted on shapely backplates.
The top section is glazed and is fitted with an integral cornice. Internally there are three adjustable shelves. The right hand door is fitted with an ornate small drop handle and it has a lock fitted (key supplied).
The bookcase has an overall height of 83.5" (212cm), a base cabinet height of 30” (76cm), a cornice width of 34.5" (88cm), a base width of 35” (89cm) and a base depth of 14.5" (37cm).
The shelves have a depth of 8” (20cm).
This lovely bookcase remains in good condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a little wear to some of the edges and around the base from past use and there are some marks internally.
This remains a very stylish and elegant bookcase which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
