Edwards & Roberts Inlaid Mahogany Display Cabinet


A superb quality Inlaid mahogany display cabinet by the renowned London cabinet makers, Edwards and Roberts. Dating from the late Victorian period and of the finest construction in the best grade of mahogany timber. Decorated with inlaid stringing and satin wood banding throughout this is a very elegant cabinet. Of break-fronted form with a central opening door which gives access to the lined and shelved interior. Standing on elegant out-swept legs. This splendid cabinet is offered for sale in excellent condition, with a marvelous colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home.

Edwards & Roberts was founded in 1845, and had premises at 21 Wardour Street London. By 1892 they occupied more than a dozen buildings in Wardour Street, where they continued to trade until the end of the century. Their business also involved retailing, adapting and restoring the finest antique furniture and there are many examples of their earlier antique furniture with later embellishments bearing their stamp.
