A Sheraton Revival, Edwards and Roberts mahogany and marquetry display cabinet of serpentine design. Having a broken arch swan neck pediment above a glazed door enclosing a shelved interior, projecting base with profusely inlaid pair of cupboard doors, all fitted with original working locks and keys, standing on inlaid, tapered and outswept legs united by shaped undertier. This exceptional china cabinet / vitrine has been sympathetically restored, it retains its original finish, colour and patina, all in wonderful condition throughout. Ready to place go straight into the home, splits into two sections for ease of installation.

Edwards & Roberts was founded in 1845, and had premises at 21 Wardour Street London. By 1892 they occupied more than a dozen buildings in Wardour Street, where they continued to trade until the end of the century. They became one of the leading London cabinet makers and retailers working in a variety of styles, both modern and revivalist. Their business also involved retailing, adapting and restoring the finest antique furniture and there are many examples of their earlier antique furniture with later embellishments bearing their stamp.
