Elegant Bow Front Stick Barometer By C.Farelli


Very elegant mahogany bow fronted stick barometer by C. Farelli, Northampton, c.1820.
The ebony strung case is veneered in well figured flame mahogany with a good 'front to back' swan neck pediment.
The mercury tube is fitted with a boxwood cistern and portable screw behind an ebonised urn shaped cistern cover fitted to an ebony line inlaid base with canted corners. The well engraved silvered register plate is fitted with a rack and pinion operated vernier guage and signed by the maker 'Farelli, Northampton'. C.Farelli is listed as working from Northampton c.1800-1830.
