Elegant Desk-Top Reference Library by Asprey


A magnificent set of brass bound reference books by the creme de la creme of London retailer's, Asprey of Bond Street, each labelled inside and the Mahogany case too with the original inlaid label.
The binding of the books is simply gorgeous naturalistic design back and front to resemble a tree, a definite Art Nouveau feel, each of the books is dated to the early 1920's. The leather spines are beautifully gold embossed and each identified Atlas / French & Latin Quotations / Encyclopedia / Classics & Mythology / French and English Dictionary / Gazetteer / Dictionary.
The inside of each book is beautifully lined with a hand-marbled paper and the the edges gold embossed and the edges of pages are all gold.. The beautiful case is made from solid polished Mahogany. Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age.
The footprint measures 8" x 6 1/4" x 4 1/2" tall at rear to the top of the books it stands 7 1/2" tall.
