English Art Nouveau Dinner Gong c.1890.
Wonderful late 19th.c. Art Nouveau dinner gong by the Birmingham makers William Tonks & Sons c.1890. 12″ diameter circular brass gong hanging on a braided cord from an extraordinarily shaped copperized wall bracket – a series of looping organic forms typical of the Art Nouveau movement. On a 6½” x 22″ oak board with moulded edge and original brass hanger struck with the WT&S sun logo. In excellent condition with a large period clapper.

Dimensions width 12″, depth 8″, height 31″.
