English Silver Fusee Pocket Watch Sn2461, London

A good, antique, Victorian sterling silver cased, fusee Pocket Watch made in London and dating from c1879.
This watch is in nice condition and in good working order.
The English made, sterling silver case is in good condition, all covers opening and closing tightly as they should. It has full English hallmarks for sterling silver. The case maker's mark "WD" for William Dyer, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and the date letter "D" for 1879/80. The rear of the case with engine turned engraving and a central cartouche with the former owner's initials.
The white enamel dial is in very good condition, but does have a faint hairline. It has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub-seconds dial at six o'clock.
The fusee movement is in excellent working order. It is key wind and set by the key provided.
The watch measures 45mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown).
Overall, this is a very good example, it would make a lovely addition to any collection. Specialists in Antique Pocket Watches & Vintage Wristwatches, Jewellery, Silver (including Scottish Provincial),Good Quality Antiques & Works of Art.
