Technical Description
A rare engraved 18th century Newcastle light baluster wine glass. A round funnel bowl engraved with a band of ‘Greek key’. The stem is comprised of an annular knop with opposing balusters above and below. A basal knop completes the stem and joins it with a helmet foot featuring a rough pontil. A magnificent well balanced and rare example.
Historical Relevance
Hand-made around the time the ruins of Pompeii were rediscovered.
