Enoch Wood Pearlware Figure John Liston Lubin Log


A good Enoch Wood pearlware figure of the actor John Liston depicted in one of his famous comic roles as Lubin Log, c.1830. Dressed in burgundy jacket, pink striped trousers and yellow gloves, top hat and spotted scarf.
Provenance: Woolley & Wallis English and European Ceramics and Glass - 23 May 2017, lot 389. Previously from a private collection. Also has sticker to base for antique dealers Stoner & Evans (1902-c.1939).
It measures 15.2cm (6") high, 6.2cm (2 7/16") deep and 6cm (2 3/8") wide.
Condition is very good there has been some good restoration to the left arm. A paint flake loss to the pedestal at the rear and a small bit of scuffing to the top edge of his hat and 2 tiny flea bites in the glaze to the brim.
