This is a fine quality 3 piece silver plated tea set consisting of a teapot, a cream jug and a sugar bowl. The tea set was made by J.A. Wylie & Co and dates to around the 1920s. J.A. Wylie & Co were both silversmiths and electroplaters and had their showroom on London's Holborn Viaduct, which was home to many silversmiths and jewellers at this time. The company was founded around 1905 and was in business until the start of World War Two.

This tea set is very elegantly designed and is a great example of the transition from the earlier flowing Art Nouveau style to the more geometric Art Deco style that would dominate the twenties and thirties. This combining of elements from both styles was a particular feature of early 1920s pieces.

The tea set is in very good condition. There are no dings or dents and no significant plate loss. It's completely ready for use today. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

Dimensions are:
Teapot - 30.3cm / 12" from spout to handle, 11cm / 4.4" across the body, 15.5cm / 6.1" high to the top of the handle.
Cream Jug - 14.8cm / 5.9" from lip to handle, 6.5cm / 2.5" across the body, 8.5cm / 3.4" high to the top of the handle.
Sugar Bowl - 19.7cm / 7.75" from handle to handle, 9cm / 3.5" across the body, 10cm / 4" high to the top of the handles.

The underside of the teapot is stamped with the JAW & Co in a shield mark for J.A. Wylie & Co and all three pieces are stamped EPNS Warranted Hard Soldered.
