This is a Fine and unusual Victorian carriage antique clock of French manufacture dating from the last quarter of the nineteenth century which has an the most beautiful dial which is decorated with fine filigree castings surmounting the cream porcelain dial bearing the name of the retailer - A and J Smith , Aberdeen . The case itself has fine applied casting of flowers on all sides , including the handle.
The unsigned 8 day movement is of typical high quality and strikes the hours and half hours on a coiled gong with repeat facility.
It is in perfect working order having been expertly restored by Overton Clocks of Chesterfield.
Unusually all the original fire gilding is present and is in perfect condition as are the bevelled glasses.
The clock is 6 1/4h inches tall to the very top of the case (handle down) 7 1/2 with the handle up ,3 3/4 inches wide and 3/4 inches deep making it suitable to be placed anywhere.
The clock is genuine and original
