Exceptional Quality Satinwood Bookcase

A quite superb quality late Victorian Sheraton Revival satinwood and mahogany banded bookcase, featuring an ornate pierced brass gallery with fleur de lis motif to the top, two glazed doors opening to reveal an arrangement of three adjustable shelves, and raised on a plinth base. Of the highest quality throughout, this bookcase was undoubtedly supplied by one of the great makers of the period, though unfortunately bears no stamp or label to reveal which.
Width 39” (99cm) Depth (overall) 17” (43cm) Depth (shelf) 11” (28cm) Height 48” (122cm)
Condition and Details of Restoration
This item is in original untouched structural condition, apart from two of the shelves which are replacements. The polish has been refinished, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. As might be expected on an example of this age, there are some old marks underneath the polish, but all extremely minor in this case.
