Exceptional Welsh Oak Potboard Dresser Base
A truly exceptional Welsh Oak Pot-board Dresser base c1820, purchased by ourselves from a wonderful generational hill farm (for which it was originally made) in the Cambrian hills above Penuwch in mid Ceredigion. A traditional Ceredigion dresser renown for their simple beauty created by perfect proportions, quality timber and unique understated look. Without doubt one of the prettiest examples of a dresser from this region that we have seen in a long while having very pretty ogee shaping below the central drawer.
Condition is absolutely outstanding throughout with not a dowel or nail out of place, the colour, patina and skin are breathtaking. It stands at full original height and is superbly solid and sturdy. All drawers are nice and clean inside and run smoothly with beautiful original handles. The perfect Welsh Dresser Base in every respect.
Length 5ft 8.5” = 174cm Height 3ft = 92cm. Depth 17” = 43cm.
