We are offering for sale this Oil on Canvas by the artist F. Bennett, after the 1970s original by Richard Schmid, who has signed the painting in the lower left hand corner. The painting depicts a side view of a nude young woman with her dark hair pulled up into a tousled knot on the top of her head and her hand on her hip. She is wearing a bracelet around her wrist. Although the colours are somwhat brighter than Schmid's original, it is a pretty good copy.

Richard Schmid is an American artist who was born in 1934. He has had a long and very successful career painting landscapes, figures and still life and currently lives in New Hampshire with his wife the painter Nancy Guzik. Examples of his work may be found on his website.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to find any biographical information on F. Bennett, although our reference books only go up to 1940 and 1950.

The painting is framed in a 1 3/4" swept, gilt frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
