Favor hunter pocket watch by Schätzle & Tschudin
An antique Favor full hunter pocket watch by Schätzle & Tschudin.
The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which is a 1928 German inscription, “to my dear grandson Karl, from your grandfather”.
The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated and was made by Gustav Rau, a case maker from Pforzheim... his bison trademark can be found inside the front cover. Nice engine turned detail to both the front and back of the case, there are some light surface marks but nothing too detrimental at all.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition. Often the original glasses lenses were replaced with acrylic when they broke, a much more durable material.
The dial is signed with the name Favour. This brand name was registered by Schätzle & Tschudin of Pforzheim in 1909.
