A magnificent and highly collectible desk blotter made from hand beaten base, in brass or bronze with a silver coloured Dog - Dachshund on top as the handle. Possible continental in original, perhaps German and perhaps WMF, dating to around 1900 / 1910. The metal plate to the underside can be removed to change the sheets of blotting paper. Excellent original condition from a private collection measuring 4 1/4" x 3" x 3 1/2" tall.
