A stunning and freestanding 19th.C. Louis XV style French kingwood, marquetry and ormolu mounted card table bearing stamp for Romain Magniant of Paris. The serpentine shaped top profusely inlaid with various exotic woods against an ebony background depicting flowers and foliage with musical instruments and sheet music to the corners and all inlaid within kingwood cross banding. The top opens to reveal a stunning marquetry border and re-lined baize playing surface. The shaped frieze having conforming marquetry inlay again against an ebony background. The whole raised on elegant cabriole legs with ormolu embellishments and cast sabots. Condition - Excellent. Dimensions:- Height…30.25''/ 77cm. Width…34''/ 86.5cm. Depth…17.5''/ 44.5cm.
