A fine and charming oil on canvas landscape scene of cattle by a stream. The work has a great impressionist look and a real quality about it, the brushstrokes are bold, confident and effortless. The work is signed to the lower right by monogram JvR, sadly I cannot locate the artist as monograms can be difficult to identify, however the quality of the painting cannot be denied. The work has been professionally cleaned and two small holes repaired. The painting is mounted in a stunning Victorian period gilt frame and the whole is ready to hang. C.1900.
