A superb, small red lacquered Meiji period Japanese shodana (cabinet) of typical form and having a black lacquer flowering tree and birds in flight flowing throughout the cabinet including the back, top, sides and front. There is combination of 6 sliding and hinged doors with 2 drawers and all having wonderful and fine raised and lacquered painted panels depicting Japanese scenes. The centre with a snow covered Mount Fuji to the back. The cabinet stands on a shaped conforming base and the whole is in very good condition with a few minor bumps and bruises associated with age and use. Size:- Height…45.5''/ 115cm. Width…29''/ 74cm.
