Fine quality small mahogany longcase clock - R Stewart,

exceptionally fine quality small longcase clock by R Stewart, 4 Buchanan Street, Glasgow, circa 1905.
this fabulous antique clock has deadbeat escapement with maintaining power, 2 large brass weights, Ellicott pendulum, Westminster and Whittington chimes with strike / silent feature , striking on every quarter hour and on the hour and is unusual in only having two weights and two winding holes , we believe the movement is possibly made by Grimshaw Baxter or Elliotts.
beautifully engraved 8.5" silvered dial with brass corner spandrels, the lovely slim case is made of wonderfully figured mahogany and stands on ogee feet.
normal minor marks / scuffs commensurate with age and use but overall this fine quality clock needs to be seen ( and heard !! ) to be fully appreciated.
please contact us for further details.
reasonably priced delivery available.
height 72" 183 cm
width 14.5" 37 cm
depth 10" 26 cm
all sizes approximate.
