Fisher Large 19thc Watercolour Landscape Painting

A Beautiful and Large Watercolour Landscape Painting
Dating to around the late 19th century.
The painting is signed to the lower left 'A. Fisher' and is just possibly by the highly celebrated artist and designer Alexander Fisher (1864 - 1936). (I am unable to prove this attribution so it is mine only, and buyers should reach their own conclusion ahead of purchase).
The scene depicts a swiftly flowing river, the water moving amongst large boulders and set below a plunging cliff face. It's an atmospheric work, with a strong sense of place and light.
Beautifully and skilfully rendered and presented behind glass and set within a beautiful gilt frame of swept design.
It presents very well and is somewhat imposing - large enough to command attention and would look fantastic hung in a traditional or contemporary interior alike.
Dimensions -
Overall, including the frame 71 x 54 cms
Image size 51 x 34 cms
Condition -
The painting itself presents well, retaining good colour and definition. There is some marking and a little foxing in places - mainly confined to the sky and noticeable around the areas of the white clouds. It is not too distracting but it is there. Also a few small / minor dark spots to the sky (possibly fly lime). May clean (if desired) but as stated the piece essentially presents well and is a pleasure to view, as is.
The frame is of high quality but has some small areas of loss to the plaster moulding. It is a far from being a write off however and is potentially restorable, if desired.
