Other than Laura Knight's Circus design,this is the most stunning 1934 Harrods 'Art in Industry' Exhibition ware I have seen. The colours are bright, the silver lustre is unfaded - in fact, it looks as new as the day it was made. No wonder really as it's been wrapped and kept in a box for the last 40 years!
Foley, Clarice Cliff and Stuart & Sons all submitted designs for the ehibition from notible artists of the day including Ben Nicholson, Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, Paul Nash and Graham Sutherland.
This stunning set comprises 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 side plates, milk juug and sugar bowl
