French 18th Century Fruitwood Commode
Wonderful example of a late 18th century French fruitwood two drawer commode in the Louis XVI style on these square tapering and fluted legs, circa 1780 and in lovely original condition.
This commode is well proportioned and with the two full width drawers offers good storage, but standing on the high legs gives it some elegance too.
Fabulous mellow glow to the fruitwood having been fully cleaned and beeswax polished.
Great decor piece for a living room or hall as a stand alone piece, but also as a bedroom storage piece with style.
Measuring:
33 1/2 inches or 85 cm high
45 3/4 inches or 116 cm wide
22 3/4 inches or 58 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
