French 19th Century Wall Tapestry


This is a superb large French 19th Century Wall Tapestry
The tapestry is hand woven in wool and silk, and has been stretched on to a soft wood frame it may have been mounted in a glass frame as it seems to have been very well protected.
The beautiful yet muted colours of the tapestry are not faded in any way, there is an abundance of shades of green and delicate pinks, the scene is of a young gallant wooing a young shepherdess by a lake complete with her flock and hand maidens
The edges are bordered with a profusion of rosebuds
The tapestry is 60” wide and 42” high and is in very good condition
