An unusual 8-day French strike repeat carriage antique clock. the case of Cariatides stlye. The masked dial having enamel chapter ring, indistinctly marked Cambridge above the 6. The movement having its original escapement and strikes the hours and halves on a gong. Also repeating the hours. The movement marked E G L Paris.

Cariatides from the Greek meaning a column in which is represented the upper half of a female figures, usually draped.
