This is a superb quality antique French provincial carved oak rectangular coffee table, circa 1860, in good condition.

Description:
This is an attractive and superb quality antique French provincial carved oak rectangular coffee table, circa 1860. The top of the coffee table features stunning oak boards, finished with a carved moulded edge. Below, there are two working oak lined drawers, which feature hand dovetail joints, which is ideal for storing magazine and smaller items. The drawers retain their original carved “green man” style handles. The frame of the table is constructed using the original peg construction method and the frieze is decorated with profuse floral carvings to the front, with recessed moulded panels to the sides and rear. Below, the coffee table is raised on four strong barley twist legs, united by a central barley twist stretcher, terminating on block feet. This period coffee table is unique and quirky with stunning quality it would be ideal in either a traditional or contemporary setting.
This item features a rich mid to dark brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
This coffee table is in good condition. Adapted from a taller table some time ago, the table boasts its original polish it has a fantastic colour and patination to the top. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the table, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There is no damage ink or water stains to the top of the table. The two working drawer are in excellent working order it features the original carved handles and closes flush to the frame. Some old ink stains visible inside the drawers (see photos). The table is well constructed, solid in joint (does not wobble) and is ready to use.

We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.

A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. We will collect the item free of charge from you (we do not charge a return fee / collection fee). You will be given a full refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. We will collect returns using our own specialist antique furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit).
