French Cherry And Marble Top Commode With Brasses
Fabulous quality and with great proportions is this early 19th century marble top commode in cherrywood with original brass mounts and handles.
Great decorative piece and also a substantial commode or chest of drawers that gives great storage with the four full width drawers, but also works as a decor piece too.
The condition is good throughout, all drawers running well, the marble is certainly the original and in good order. There is some of the usual shrinkage to the sides of the commode, but nothing of any concern.
Shown with an example mirror hanging above to give a sense of proportions.
Great piece and has the most fabulous colour and patina.
Measuring:
31 1/2 inches or 80cm high
50 3/4 inches or 128.5 wide
23 1/2 inches or 59.5 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
