French Cherrywood Commode Chest Of Drawers
Well proportioned French pale cherrywood commode chest of drawers with a cherrywood top, circa 1850.
Lovely light colour to this chest of drawers and gives good storage with the four full width drawers (there is a frieze drawer just under the top).
Nice that this commode has its original cherrywood top as so many of these have a heavy marble top. Also quite a shallow depth for one of these too, so it can work in a living room setting as well as a bedroom storage piece.
Cleaned and beeswax polished so it has a nice mellow glow with some of the usual age and use related marks you would expect.
Measuring:
34 1/2 inches or 87.5 cm high
47 3/4 inches or 121.5 cm wide
20 inches or 51 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
