Antique French Empire gilded cast pewter or similar grey metal 12 lamp chandelier.
This is really impressive large classy and rare chandelier.
Fantastic age and patina!
Historic knocks, marks and repairs, as is common to old chandeliers.
920mm diameter x 1080mmH (this could be reduced to 780mm by removing links from the chain).
This chandelier was part of a bulk consignment we have purchased from a supplier in Belgium. The chandelier has been carefully taken apart, cleaned and shipped to us using a quality parcel carrier. We have reassembled the chandelier in the UK to check its condition and photograph it. The wiring is quite old and there is no earthing, so it does not currently comply with current UK standards.
To keep your costs to a minimum we are offering a free delivery service with this listing via Parcelforce 48 or similar carrier. The chandelier will have its arms removed (they unscrew easily) and be carefully packaged. The chandelier needs to have the wiring checked / altered / replaced / reconnected as necessary and to be reassembled then safely installed by someone competent to do so. Given the size and age of the chandelier we would estimate that it would take roughly a days work for a competent person to sort the wiring / assemble and install it. Assembly is best carried out with the chandelier suspended from the top and final fixing to the ceiling will require at least two people.
As an alternative we would offer to bring the wiring up to scratch including earthing, fully assemble the chandelier and then deliver it carefully using a specially commissioned courier to your home.
