French Gilt Bronze Mahogany Armoire Wardrobe Press

This is sensational.
The press wardrobe was made in the 1920s by Haentges Freres in Paris in the 1920s.
Haentges Frères were a celebrated Parisian firm of bronziers and Ébénistes mainly in the last quarter of 19th and early 20th century. The firm was known for their high quality furnishing in the Louis XV and XVI styles with ormolu mounts. According to the book Le mobilier français du XIX siecle by Denise Ledoux-Lebard it lists Haentges Frères as being located at 9, Immeubles Industriels from 1883.
Their antique furniture, today sells for tens of thousands of pounds.
The wardrobe has all the quality you can imagine. It is made is opulent birds eye mahogany with inlaid stringing. The gilt bronze mounts, crest and escutcheons are breathtaking. The wardrobe has a sleek cornice above and pedestal base. The doors have heavy plate glass bevelled mirrored doors. The interior is just as opulent with veneered sides and a panelled back and two drawers below, adjustable shelves and a full length rail. This armoire can be used as a cupboard or, without the shelves, a wardrobe.
The condition is wonderful. There is no key. Minor marks from age and usage.
If you are looking for sheer style and quality then this wardrobe has it all.
The great thing about French wardrobes is that they flat pack and are constructed around four big screws. They are a marvel of design. This wardrobe can be broken down it to many panels and can be carried up the tightest staircase. it takes fifteen minutes to reassemble.
The wardrobe is 82 inches high and 54 inches wide and 19 inches deep.
