French Lille Enamel Heart Shape Trinket Box


Late 19th century heart shaped trinket box with domed, hinged lid and painted with a main scene of young lovers, a seated girl fanning herself whilst being serenaded by her beau playing a lute. Set against a landscape and framed with puce swirls. The walls and inside the box to the base and lid are painted with flowers and it has the "Lille 1767" mark painted in puce on the base.
It measures 7cm (2 3/4") long, 6cm (2 1/4") wide and 4cm (1 1/2") high. Condition is very good with no damage and light surface wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
