A splendid French mahogany Empire period pedestal writing desk. Of very good construction in mahogany and decorated throughout with brass inlaid moldings and flutings. To the sides there are a pair of pull-out writing slides, these along with the desk top are inset with sumptuous black leather writing surfaces which are decorated with tooling to the surrounds. There is one long central drawer flanked by two banks of 4 shorter graduating drawers, All drawers are lockable with the keys supplied, This desk is finished to the sides and rear so it could be free-standing within a room if desired. We have had it sympathetically repolished in our workshops to a very high standard. It is now being offered for sale in excellent condition with a great colour and patina. Splits into 3 sections for ease of installation.
