French Marble Top Commode In Figured Walnut
Very decorative French marble top commode in figured walnut with (later added) bronze effect drawer handles in the Louis Philippe style, circa 1860 and in good condition.
This is an impressive and substantial piece of antique furniture, whether you are to use it for bedroom storage with its four drawers (all lockable) or if it is to be a feature piece in a living room or hall.
Wonderful colour and grain pattern to the figured walnut and the charcoal grey flecked marble top with its shaped and moulded edge compliment each other very well.
Good condition, drawers all running smoothly and with working locks.
The marble top does come off the chest for ease of moving etc.
Measuring:
39 inches or 99 cm high
51 inches or 129.5 cm maximum width of the marble
48 1/2 inches or 123 cm maximum width at the feet
23 1/half inches or 59.5 cm depth of marble top Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
