This is such a good quality bedside chest. It is French and dates to around 1880 - 1900. The chest, I think, is made in kingwood and is inlaid around the drawers. I think you would be pushed to find another small French chest of such quality. The chest has a brushing slide and a very sweet bank of drawers. It stands on elegant shaped legs and has inset chevron designs to the sides.

This is such a good little chest. It would look wonderful in a bedroom furnished in antique or to the French taste but it would be a pity to hide such a good piece away in a bedroom. It would look good as a side cabinet in a principal room, perhaps with a lamp on top.

Condition good for age. No sign of worm or damage.

The bedside is 28 inches high and 17 inches wide and 12 inches deep.
