G Plan Quadrille Teak & Rosewood 6 Drawer Chest
A teak 6 drawer chest with rosewood handles from the Quadrille range of antique furniture designed for G Plan in the mid 1960s.
The 'Quadrille' name comes from the square frames which make the legs (a quadrille being a square dance with four couples). However the inside of the solid teak frames are curved, giving them a simple but stylish elegance. The Quadrille range was designed in the mid 1960s for G Plan modern and futuristic, the range had clean lines, inspired by the Danish designers of the time. The style still looks very contemporary today, and fits into both modern and retro-inspired interiors.
Dimensions: Height 115.5cm, Width 51cm, Depth 46cm.
The chest is in excellent vintage condition with almost no signs of use it has been stripped and refinished in oil and protective wax. It has its gold G Plan stamp inside the top drawer.
