Gents 1950s Paul Buhré wrist watch

Gents 1950s Paul Buhré wrist watch.
The watch has a good quality 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement carries the letters KOS which is the American import mark for Paul Buhré.
Montres Paul Buhré was founded in 1815 when Paul Léopold Robert opened a watch and clock store in St. Petersburg, Russia. His son, Paul Buhré, was a skilled watchmaker and supplied watches to the Imperial Court of Russia. Paul Buhré maintained retail outlets in St Petersburg and Moscow, supplying the railways and Russian government. In 1880, Paul Girard-Gabus, an established watchmaker in Le Locle, Switzerland, opened a dedicated workshop there for Paul Buhré.
The movement is also signed with the name Charles Kastner, he would have been the original importer of the watch.
The watch measures 21.5mm excluding the winding crown (23.5mm wide across the lugs), and 25mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 10k rolled gold while the case back is stainless steel. The case is in beautiful condition.
Back in the 1950s, this would have been a man’s watch but, with today’s fashions, it would suit a man with a slimmer wrist, or a lady.
The curved lens is in lovely condition too.
The dial is signed with the brand name Krystal. It is in very nice condition with original hands.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in its original Ivorex box which is in super condition.
ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
