Gents Omega bumper automatic wrist watch, 1950

Gents Omega bumper automatic wrist watch, 1950.
The watch has a bumper automatic movement, calibre 342, which is working nicely. Early automatic watches such as this one relied on the rotor ‘bumping’ backwards and forwards between two springs to maintain the power within the movement. Later automatic watches have the fully rotational rotor.
The movement is fully signed and the serial number 12,066,819 dates it back to 1950.
The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition, just light surface marks but nothing serious at all. The winding crown is signed with the Omega logo. The inside of the screw-on case back has the Omega triangular mark together with the case reference 2576-11 which is correct for the 342 movement.
The lens is in good condtion.
The signed dial has been professionally re-finished, a long time ago, and it now has a really good look to it. Original hands (with a little marking), a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
A new sports strap has been fitted but the buckle with the Omega symbol has been retained.
The watch will be sent in a later Omega presentation box.
ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
