Gents Omega Seamaster automatic wrist watch, 1966

UK POSTAGE ONLY
Gents Omega Seamaster automatic wrist watch, 1966.
The watch has a 24-jewel automatic movement, the calibre 565, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 24,826,151 which dates it back to 1966.
The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold capped which means a generous layer of 14k gold has been applied to the front and sides of the case and the bezel is solid 14k gold. It was said that the gold capping was so thick that it could hold its shape when not fitted to the case and apparently the salesman used to carry a sample of just the gold capping to demonstrate how strong it was. The capping is in lovely condition.
The screw on case back has the Seamaster logo to the outside and the Omega triangular logo to the inside, together with the case reference 166.009 which is correct for the calibre 565. There are five surface scratches to the case back.
Omega winding crown.
Omega lens, with the tiny clear Omega logo to the centre and a magnification window over the date display. There is a 4mm crack over the number 1 but otherwise it is in good condition.
The signed dial is in its original sunburst finish with original hands, seconds sweep and date display. There is light freckling across the dial. Quickset date by repeatedly pulling and pushing the crown.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
