Gents unusual 1970s silver auto Garrard watch
Gents unusual 1970s silver automatic wrist watch from Garrard.
The watch has a good quality 21-jewel automatic movement, an MSR S76 (with hacking) which was based on the ETA 2783.
The watch measures 34mm wide excluding the winding crown and 35mm high excluding the lugs.
We would usually expect this style of watch from this era to be in a gold plated finish but unusually, this particular case is in fact silver. There are hallmarks inside the case back for London 1977, together with the monarch's head to commemorate the Queen's Silver Jubilee. The back of the watch has a 1978 long service inscription.
The lens is in good condition, as is the signed dial. There is a date display at 6 o'clock (quickset at first position).
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
