The watch has a high grade Swiss hand-winding movement with 17-jewels, Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision and screw set jewels. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a little unevenness.
The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the later winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London (import mark), 1918 with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell.
From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.
The case is in good condition, just a hint of unevenness to the hinged case back but nothing serious at all.
The glass lens is in lovely condition.
The dial has a couple of faint hairlines but one is very difficult to see with the naked eye. Blued steel hands.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
