George II Walnut Wing Armchair c. 1740

A beautiful early 18th Century walnut wing arm chair, recently professionally re-upholstered in a top quality 100% silk heavyweight upholstery fabric with a burgundy ground and lovely pale gold 18th Century pattern.
The front cabriole legs caved with acanthus and terminating in puddle pad feet. The frame complete and original beneath the upholstery.
Wonderfully comfortable chair, well padded and with a lovely gentle rake to the back. Evidence of old worm (long since dead and not affecting structure), some old losses, replacements and restorations which are reflected in our price.
This chair would have been made by a skilled craftsman using hand held tools in around 1740.
This is a very heavy, superbly comfortable chair with a good width and depth to the seat, well padded throughout and with a gently raked back.
Dimensions are:
30 inches wide, 39 inches deep and 44 inches high.
For metric please multiply by 2.5
I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.
I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
