George III inlaid crossbanded oak bureau desk
Antique quality George III oak bureau desk or writing table.
Attractive double mahogany crossbanding and intricate marquetry inlays. Better than most with loads of drawers and compartments.
There is a key to the fall front and top/bottom drawers only.
This is a lovely bureau, that is full of age, charm and character.
No loose joints and the drawers slide freely (some marks inside as is to be expected).
Good shape and fantastic proportions.
Later tooled leather writing surface.
Rare, with a great light colour.
Full of age, charm and character.
Overall maximum dimensions 104cmW x 49cmD x 108cmH (80cmH writing surface).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Later handles. Dissimilar knobs on internal drawers. There are some historic extinct woodworm holes (as one would expect), that we have treated for good measure.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person(s) for our driver to assist with carrying.
