A George III blanket box or linen chest on later stand. Constructed from figured mahogany with moulded edge above a shaped brass escutcheon with working lock & key with brass carrying handles to the sides. The stand having a shaped frieze and raised on short cabriole legs with claw and ball feet. Condition- very good on later stand, without the stand the trunk would make an ideal coffee table. Dimensions:- Max.Height…34.5’’/ 88cm. Max.Width…45’’/ 114cm. Max.Depth…27.5’’/ 70cm. Without the stand - Height…20.5’’/ 52cm. Width…43’’/ 109cm. Depth…25’’/ 64cm.
