Description
Here is a very good quality antique oak dresser base, circa 1780 - 1800 (George III period) originating from North Shropshire (the border area between Shropshire & Cheshire), England in good clean condition with excellent proportions. The dresser boasts great craftsmanship, colour and patination and measures 6½ft wide. The three-piece top features an elegant reverse moulding. The dresser base consists of five working cock-beaded drawers, each with their original brass swan neck handles and escutcheons, all of which are in keeping with the period. The central drawer houses the original working lock (and key) and the two flanking drawers feature sham locks. Lovely medullary rays are prominent to the drawer fronts. The drawers are pine lined and hand-dovetailed. The dresser boasts an unusual half moon design to centre of the dresser, flanked by an elegantly shaped scalloped frieze, typical of dressers from this area. Four protruding cabriole legs on block feet support the base and the back of the dresser retains its original pine backboards. The dresser frame has been constructed with the traditional peg construction method.
The dresser features a superb rich deep brown and red oak colour. As its boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
The dresser would look superb in any hallway, kitchen or dining room. This item would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are an extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

This dresser is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the top and leading edges of the frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The brass drawer handles are original and in keeping with the period. The central drawer boats original working lock and a working key the two outer drawers feature sham locks. The carcass is solid in joint with no lose movements. As the dresser boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic mellow colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you by email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. We will collect the item free of charge from you (we do not charge a return fee / collection fee). You will be given a full refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. We will collect returns using our own specialist antique furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit).
